The use of solar energy for thermal applications can be realized by two very different technologies.
Power to heat
Surplus photovoltaic power not used by self-consumption can be used for regenerative heating of the buffer storage tank.
The tubra®-eTherm is a hydraulic unit with integrated control for thermal storage of photovoltaic power for self-consumption optimization. The compact hydraulic unit can be connected modularly to hot water tanks with an integrated heat register and buffer tanks with heating water.
- applicable on drinking water or buffer storage tanks
- optimal for retrofitting to existing storage tanks
- energy storage in thermal accumulators with significantly higher storage capacities than in batteries
- control of charging temperature for immediately usable heat tubra®-eTherm P and C
- no required minimum terms or minimum services
- CE compliant in terms of EMC and electrical safety
tubra®-eTherm
The tubra®-eTherm is an innovative hydraulic unit with integrated control that converts excess solar power into heat and thus optimizes self-consumption in the household. It stores self-generated energy in drinking water storage tanks or buffer storage tanks with significantly higher capacities than batteries, ensuring efficient use of renewable energy and helping to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels.
Main features of the tubra®-eTherm:
- Easy to retrofit for buffer storage tanks or domestic hot water tanks with integrated heating coil
- The control system automatically adjusts the heating output to the photovoltaic surplus
- Recommended from a PV system output of 4 kWp
- Installed before the electricity meter to ensure priority for household electricity
- no required minimum terms or minimum benefits
- CE-compliant with regard to EMC and safety
Advantages of tubra®-eTherm:
- Simple retrofitting with existing heating hydraulics
- Constant charging temperature of 70°C creates stratified charging with utilization of the entire storage capacity and immediately usable heat
- Energy storage in buffer storage systems with significantly higher storage capacities and lower investment costs compared to battery storage systems
- The use of excess PV for hot water and heating increases the self-consumption of self-generated electricity and thus more independence
- No minimum running times or minimum performance required to start
- Saving of fossil fuels. Reduction of starts of the primary heat generator (boiler or heat pump)
- Immediately usable heat thanks to fast response times
- Cascading of several eTherm stations possible for more heating power
