The use of solar energy for thermal applications can be realized by two very different technologies.

tubra®-eTherm

Intelligent thermal storage for photovoltaic electricity

The tubra®-eTherm is an innovative hydraulic unit with integrated control that converts excess solar power into heat and thus optimizes self-consumption in the household.
It stores the self-generated energy in buffer storage units that offer significantly higher capacities than battery storage units. This enables particularly efficient use of renewable energy and at the same time helps to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels.

Main features of the tubra®-eTherm:

  • Easy to retrofit for buffer storage tanks or domestic hot water tanks with integrated heating coil
  • The control system automatically adjusts the heating output to the photovoltaic surplus
  • Recommended from a PV system output of 4 kWp
  • Installed before the electricity meter to ensure priority for household electricity
  • no required minimum terms or minimum benefits
  • CE-compliant with regard to EMC and safety

Advantages of tubra®-eTherm:

  • Simple retrofitting with existing heating hydraulics
  • Constant charging temperature of 70°C creates stratified charging with utilization of the entire storage capacity and immediately usable heat
  • Energy storage in buffer storage systems with significantly higher storage capacities and lower investment costs compared to battery storage systems
  • The use of excess PV for hot water and heating increases the self-consumption of self-generated electricity and thus more independence
  • No minimum running times or minimum performance required to start
  • Saving fossil fuels.
  • Reduction of the start cycles of the primary heat generator (boiler or heat pump)
  • Immediately usable heat thanks to fast response times
  • Cascading of several eTherm stations possible for more heating power
